28th August 2010: Seems to have been a long time since the last update, but it's only been a month. Something to do with yours truly having sold his Stag and therefore not attending any of the events recently (Rodmarton Run was the last in the Stag). Sooo, what's been going on then - well there's a write up on the Classix page of the Wordbuilder 3 which apparently was a great success, and on Gallery 2 there a few new pictures from the More of the Moors run. Along with that, there is also the regular update on the What's On page, which shows we still have good events coming up! Oh and just in case anyone's interested, I have just bought a new classic for the garage...hopefully see you out and about soon!
29th July 2010: Monthly update time again - there are the regular updates to the What's On page (lots to do!), and a new article on the Classix page re-telling the story of a continental rally earlier this summer. Get out and about, the summer will be over before you know it....:(
19th July 2010: Hello folks - new pictures today from the Rodmarton Run yesterday see Gallery 1 - it was a lovely run starting near Bath, through to Kemble Airfield for lunch, then onto Rodmarton Manor for a very interesting tour by the owners followed by tea and cake! And it only rained a bit...
11th July 2010: Following an interesting trip to Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend, please see a few pictures taken by yours truly of a variety of interesting machinery in Gallery 1 - not a C&H event, but hey....!
5th July 2010: Hello 'tinterent people. Monthly update a bit late this month due to holidays etc (excuses, excuses...). Anyway, the What's On page has been updated and the Classix page has a new article about the Ye Olde(s) Tour de Somerset....Yours truly had a fab day out at Goodwood Festival of Speed yesterday, and once I have had a chance to review my snaps, if any are any good I'll stick some in one of the gallery pages:)
15th June 2010: Yet another quick update! This time for more photos (thank you very much to all those that sent me some!), for the Saga Cycle ride on 25th May - see Gallery 1, and the Gymkhana from just last weekend (13th June) - see Gallery 2. Also, there are a couple more invitation events (from MG Car Club) added to the Calendar for August and October.
8th June 2010: Quick update today - a new event added to the What's On page and Calendar on 25th July for Somerset & Dorset Air Ambulance.
25th May 2010: Monthly update time again. The What's On page has been updated, including details of a trail run of a few new venues for club night. On the Classix page, there is a new article by the Classix Editor about the recent Bristol Classic Car Show. Yours truly probably won't be at the Gymkhana on 13th June, so any pictures for the Gallery pages would greatly appreciated. I also won't be at the Saga Cycle event either as I'm not old enough(!) so any photos from this event would also gratefully received...
17th May 2010: Just a quicky today to let you know that there are new pictures on the Mendip Tour Gallery page fresh from yesterday's wet (again!!!) event.
4th May 2010: Hello folks - quick update today to Gallery 1 with a few pictures from the 2010 Bristol Classic Car Show last weekend....
29th April 2010: Hello all and welcome to another monthly update. There are the regular updates to the What's On page and a new article on the Classix page which is a write up of the successful Porlock Run on 11th April. As the season proper is now underway, there are new photos on Gallery 2 from The Porlock Run and from (a rather wet) Drive It Day. This weekend the C&H have what promises to be another fine stand at the Classic Car Show at The Bath & West Show Ground. In a couple of weeks it's our prenier event - The Mendip Tour. If you haven't entered this event yet there may a be a couple of places left - AND we still need marshals! Let me know if you can help via the contact page and I will pass it on!
30th March 2010: STOP PRESS!! There are only a few places left on our premier event - The Mendip Tour on 16th May 2010 - don't miss your chance - get your entry in now! See the Mendip Tour page for more information plus contact details and entry forms.
28th March 2010: Hello, time for the April update. The What's On page has been updated and on the Classix page there is a summary of the recent AGM. There has also been corrections of a few links that were for some reason had gone astray on the In a Bit More Detail page - thanks to a club member for pointing that out! The club has it's first official run of the season is very soon - The Exmoor & Porlock Run - which already full I'm afraid - so perhaps we'll see you at the FBHVC Drive It Day on Sunday 25th April.
1st March 2010: Just a quickie today to let you know the C&H Saga Cycle date has changed to 25th May, so you had better start polishing your Penny Farthing now 'cause spring is around the corner, I hope...! Also, a couple of pictures have been added to Gallery 1 showing the kind of conditions that the Porlock Run event organisers have had to work in. Honestly, who wants to sit a Rover 800 all day...:)
22nd February 2010: You lucky people, another update! And with me being so tired 'n all....Anyway, this is the regular monthly update slot with a completely new What's On page featuring the first two full/proper events of the new season - one of which is the C&H's event to mark the FBHVC national Drive It Day on 25th April. Have a look at the FBHVC website for more information on what this is all about at a national level, where you will also find our event publicised. Other stuff this month includes a new Classix article featuring a fascinating way to spend your holidays in the sand. Don't forget the AGM on 18th March - for more details see further down this News page. Also, if you haven't entered our premier event yet, visit the Mendip Tour page to find out what you have been missing...
11th February 2010: Quick update today with a new Calendar fully updated with all the latest events for the year - still lots of space though...! On a personal note, many thanks for all of the cards and emails wishing the latest addition to the Webmaster's family well - and I don't mean a new classic motor...:). 19th January 2010: Hello all and welcome to the second update of the year already! Following the rubbish weather since Christmas it was a very welcome sunny day that greeted the C&H at the annual New Year Trundle held on Sunday 17th January. I didn't count the proper cars that turned out, but I think it was in the region of 35-40. The run was pleasant and the food at Camley Lodge fantastic. The awards were dolled out to the Great and the Good and generally a good day was had by all. Please see a selection of pictures now in a fresh Gallery 1.
2nd January 2010: HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome to the first update of 2010 - it's a bit later that usual due to the festive period, but as usual just in advance of the publication of this month's Classix. Yours truly missed the Christmas Icebreaker due to a prior engagement, but I gather a good time was had by all, and I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
There are updates this month for the What's On page and the Classix page, plus an up to date membership form added to the Membership page.
The next event proper is the New Year Trundle. The closing date has now passed, but to those of you who are booked and are going to brave the weather, I'll see you there!
