June 2020 update

So although we’ve just experienced the warmest May on record, we are still no nearer knowing when we will be able to start club events again. Below is taken from June’s magazine by way of an update of the current position.

Motor Sport UK, who are the governing body who oversee all motoring style events, have issued a lengthy guidance document giving details of how events must be run in the current Covid-19 virus conditions. If we want a certificate issued by them, which also covers us for insurance on the event, we must adhere to the conditions in the document.

We realise that these regulations can change very quickly in the current climate, and hope this happens in time for us to have the Cotswold Classic Run in September. We will closely monitor the regulations from Motorsport UK and the Government, so that if & when they change, and we can follow them, the event will definitely go ahead. But we must protect our members, organisers, marshals and entrants, and also our Club as best as possible and minimize the risk at any event. We additionally need to protect our Club from possible financial losses.

More details of the Motor Sport UK position can be found in this month’s Classix magazine – or alternatively on there website HERE.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoyed our Mendip Tour Special Gallery updated during the week leading up the date of the tour!
