The Mendip Tour

Sunday May 13th 2018

Entry forms availabe on this page from 1st February 2018.

For this year, the organizers have decided to revise the age eligibility of entrants’ vehicles to 30 years or older, that is: vehicles registered in or before 1988. This is an attempt to reduce the number of disappointed applicants when we reach our entry limit of participating vehicles. We will monitor how this goes this year, and will be reviewing the situation again for the 2019 Mendip Tour.

Our Start will be at Sanders (a Wyevale Garden Centre), Bristol Road, Brent Knoll, Burnham-on-Sea, TA9 4HJ (on the A38, and quite close to Junction 22 of the M5).

The first car will be away from the start at 9:30 am, but as usual, entrants can arrive any time after 8:30 am to partake of tea or coffee (included for the driver and navigator), and have the option of a bacon butty (which can be pre-ordered).

The Lunch Stop will be at The Haynes International Motor Museum at Sparkford, Yeovil, BA22 7LH. It is on the A359 (near its junction with the A303) and is well signposted. A hot buffet lunch can be pre-ordered as usual, or entrants can choose to bring their own picnics.

The Finish will as usual be in the city of Wells on the Cathedral Green (BA5 2UE).  As a club we are very honoured indeed to be able to stage the culmination of our Mendip Tour in this magnificent setting.

Club members will receive the entry forms in the January 2018 Club Magazine. This is one month before we send out the details to our other contacts and release it to the public. As many of you will know the Mendip Tour fills up very quickly, so don’t delay enter straight away to avoid disappointment.

Our nominated charity will again be Macmillan Cancer Support, who last year with your help were able to raise over £1600 through their collections and a large donation from the Classic & Historic Motor Club Mendip Tour Funds. Can we do better in 2018?

I look forward to seeing many of you on the Mendip Tour in 2018 it will be another great day out
