MENDIP VINTAGE & CLASSIC TOUR

The Mendip Vintage & Classic Tour 25th Anniversary – 12th May 2019

Some of the preparation & people that make it happen, a brief overview….

The Eight months of planning, identifying, securing venues, and multiple meetings to obtain the best terms possible, then with venues secured, the excellent route planning is put in place, not an easy task, requiring a lot of expertise and skill.
All this, then the preparation for the Route Book is required again a lot of thought and expertise must go into this. Adverts to be sought and finalized, route history to be added, and the all-important Runners & Riders list to be compiled, 175 of them this year, this is a special skill to add all the entrants & navigators also, their vehicles and many other details to the Master List. The route book then must be taken to the printers after deciding on the layout of the front cover etc.
Many other items had to be taken into consideration, this year as we had the task of finding some new marshals, a new photographer, and all but one new judge, due to many stalwarts taking part in the Mendip Tour 2019. Our nominated charity this year was ‘Macmillan Cancer Support’.
Then of course another big one ‘The Weather’. In the end of course it was beautiful sunshine all day.

The Classic & Historic Motor Club are indebted to the Mendip Tour Sub Committee for their expertise, commitment and time they have put in again this year, you have been amazing.

It was a hugely successful event I believe our best – ever M T. The Club would like to thank everyone who supported the Mendip Tour on the day, without your help we could not run the event, we hope you enjoyed your day. We are very lucky to have people willing to give their time and expertise to the Mendip Tour, it is very much appreciated.
As with most events it is the entrants who make it special, a big thank you to everyone who entered the Mendip Tour this year. Thank you for bringing those amazing vehicles, it was truly a spectacular display with cars ranging from 1911 to 1989 vehicles from every decade, creating memories of a bygone age, each one very special in its own way.
We are very grateful to our Sponsors & Advertisers for their support, your help allows us to make it a very successful day for our nominated charity Macmillan Cancer Support. It looks like they will raise over £2000 with their collection on the day & a large donation from the Mendip Tour. You are very generous & the Club really appreciate your support & hope the publicity you get helps to promote your business in a positive manner.

We have a large amount of great photographs on our Mendip Tour Gallery Page including some really nice overviews of the Cathedral Green and a special one of the Ston Easton display of cars outside the house – see the gallery HERE.
