The beginning February means that the public entries are now open for our premiere event, The Mendip Tour 2023 – see The Mendip Tour Page!
If you’ve every done this fantastic event before, you’ll know that the entry list fills up very fast. If you haven’t done it before, be warned that the event is usually full in a matter a weeks!
Our Calendar is starting to take shape for the year, with a couple of events for the next few months – and Drive It Day in April should hopefully be a great event this year as we have a special start venue lined up, and a fantastic lunch venue – more details coming soon! If you want to get your FBHVC DiD Rally Plates in plenty of time and support a good cause in the process, see the Drive It Day page for more information.

Mendip Tour – Call for Marshals
John Blackburn, the Mendip Tour Entries Secretary, writes:
Volunteers needed! We are currently in the midst of organising the 2023 Mendip Tour, which is set for Sunday, May 14th. As in previous years, the event could not be undertaken without those wonderful, smiling, Hi-Viz clad volunteer marshals! As in previous years, we need marshals at the start, the lunch stop and at the finish on the Cathedral Green in Wells.
So, could I please ask that if anyone is available on the 14th May, they please get in touch (Contact details are on page 1 of every edition of Classix)

Editorship of Classix
After producing over 200 editions of Classix over some 16 years, the Editor thinks it might be high time we had some younger blood—and ideas—on the job! If any member would like to have a go at taking over this most interesting and prestigious task, do please get in touch. The job is easy enough once you have mastered the simple tricks of Microsoft Publisher. The main requirements are an interest in old cars and a commitment to cranking out the magazine every month! Other desirable attributes are use of a computer and a reasonable fluency in writing the King’s English. If you are interested, or would like to know more about the job, please send me a short e-mail in the first instance.
