Drive It Day 2025
Sunday 27 April 2025
National ‘Drive it Day’/‘Ride it Day’ is the annual opportunity to raise awareness and
support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping heritage on UK
roads. It sees clubs schedule regional and local events throughout the country on Sunday
27th April 2025. Importantly, it also raises funds for the NSPCC’s Childline. We use
yesterday’s vehicles to support today’s children. Fundraising is an integrated part of ‘Drive
it Day’, in which our movement comes together to contribute to a section of society that
needs huge help and support – vulnerable children. This money is raised by the purchase
by drivers and riders of a fundraising ‘Drive it Day’ rally plaque. It’s an easy way for
drivers and riders to show their support, and donate vital funds.
A variety of rally plaques, for bikes and cars, (or just make a donation) are available now at
www.driveitday.co.uk
The Classic & Historic Motor Club ‘Drive It Day’ will begin with breakfast at the
Middlewick Café and Farm Shop on the outskirts of Glastonbury at 0930 which features
menus designed by their Head Chef, Elliott Leigh, focusing on seasonal and local produce.
In 2024, it won Gold in the Somerset Tourism Awards and Silver in the South West
Tourism Awards. The venue offers 72 indoor seats and an additional 70 seats outside.
From Middlewick Café we will have a scenic trundle through 46 miles of Somerset and
Dorset countryside to The Kings Arms in Potesham, an award winning traditional country
pub situated in the beautiful West Dorset village of Portesham, sitting on the Jurassic
coastal road between Weymouth and West Bay for a traditional Sunday Lunch in their
dining room where we can expect a warm welcome, relaxed table service and a range of
selected wines, cask ales and craft lagers.
