AFTER a relaxing drive through parts of rural Somerset, including the towns of Somerton, an ancient Saxon town that later became the capital of Wessex, and Langport, which at one time printed its own money, you will arrive at the Smokery.
Brown & Forrest is a family-run business, started 37 years ago in Somerset, where they produce the finest smoked eel and salmon, as well as a whole range of delicious smoked foods, including chicken, duck, lamb, beef, pork and trout. They also boast a well-stocked shop attached to their award winning restaurant.
When you have been seated and reminded of your order, each table will be given a short tour of the Smokery, lasting about 10 minutes, after which your table will be served.
The restaurant is situated in a beautiful part of Somerset and the friendly staff are only too willing to suggest walks and other places to visit.
