Discover the Enchanting Beauty of Somerset’s Lady Farm Gardens
A Private Visit to Lady Farm Gardens, Chelwood BS39 4NN
Sunday 13th July 2 – 6pm
Nestled amidst the tranquil countryside of Chelwood, Somerset, Lady Farm Gardens exude an enchanting aura that captivates the imagination. The gardens, meticulously crafted by Judy Pearce over two decades, are a testament to her unwavering passion for horticulture. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by the stately presence of buxus sempervirens topiary, which frames the original gardens surrounding the house with a sense of grandeur. In 1972 Malcolm and Judy Pearce agreed to swap homes with friends and take on the 150 acre farm at Lady Farm, including the cows. They continued to milk the cows right outside the house until 1992 when the cattle were moved away and the farm became arable with sheep. This was when Judy started work on the garden. With her vision , unique to herself and with no formal training, she began creating something amazing.
Since the garden was opened she has had visitors and television programmes about her garden. The C&H will now have an opportunity to visit these unique and varied gardens complete with afternoon tea. There is so much to see as the gardens go on and on.
